Verse for today

When I opened my Bible this morning it opened to Isaiah 55. The verse that jumped out at me is verse 3: "Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake."

Too many times I go rushing through life not listening. I really want to slow down and listen; listen to God; listen to my family; listen to my body. 

My prayer today is that I would stop and listen, that all of us would stop and listen. 

Make time today to listen; get into a quiet place and just be still. Allow the silence to penetrate your heart and mind. Don't be afraid of the quiet. Remember the story of the prophet Elijah?

God spoke to him in the quiet whisper of a breeze. Too often the noise of the day drowns out the quiet whispers of God's Spirit.

Let's open our ears and listen to what God wants to whisper to us today. It may save our soul.
